Who am i? פרק ג

Leadership
The Talmud teaches us the qualifications of being a public figure, and I quote:
רבן גמליאל בנו של רבי יהודה הנשיא אומר, וכל העמלים עם
הציבור, יהיו עמלים עימם לשם שמיים
(Rabbi Gamaliel the son of Rabbi Judah said: Let all who occupy themselves with communal affairs do so for Heaven's sake)

If you want to be a Rabbi in the community, if you intend to be a community liaison, a community leader, a community spokesman, it MUST BE לשם שמיים otherwise it’s worthless! When you make a decision it must be the right one, not the popular one. When you take a stand on something, it must be the right one, not the popular one.

As we mentioned in the previous post, the world was created with “choice and options”, every human being has a chance to do right or to do evil. G-d created the world that way and G-d allows evil things to happen to good people and even to innocent little children. But as we said G-d also wants punishment! G-d wants civility and manners. G-d created this world to be managed by humans and run by governments.

Respect For a Rabbi!

It is very clear that respect for a Rabbi and a scholar is very important as long as it fits the criteria mentioned “He is a holy and follows the torah “ otherwise he has the law of כקל  שבצבור
__________________________________________________________
Now let me try to tie all of the above in very simple English, and give you the law and halacha on how to deal with Rabbis who are not legit and are not truly serving the public the way they must do it - לשם שמיים

As we mentioned in an earlier post. A rabbi who was nominated strictly on the qualifications that he is “next in line”, that is a very poor excuse to be a Rabbi. Unfortunately in today’s world, this is the only method they use, to pick a rabbi. So in a certain way, what can we expect? What kind of leadership will we get when hundreds of unqualified Rabbis are at the helm ?

It did not take too much time for history to prove us right! These Rabbis put their signatures on letters and announcements with out having the slightest clue on what they are signing for. Make decisions for communities with out understanding the ABC of that particular issue. Taking the responsibilities on core issues of the Jewish existence (i.e.  Kosher, Ritual baths, Sabbath, etc.) when they are totally not qualified to even suggest their opinion on it. And what ends up happening , when they are caught, they do the following two things.
1.  They go on the offense
2. The guy who exposed them is a low life and you are not allowed to associate with him.

Rabbi Stein (A well known Talmud Chuchum in the Brooklyn Community) exposed recently a major problem regarding a kashrus issue.  Without going into details once again, let me just assure you I was fully involved on that issue, and there’s no doubt in my mind that Rabbi Stein was one million percent right, and the Government facilities in Penn State University verified it to me. But nevertheless, He was shushed out by ALL Rabbis involved with that community, and was warned to be quiet, and they didn’t have the guts to tell the public that it was a big mess up and according to Rabbi Roth, you must “Kasher” your dishes and treat it like any other law , when you have non-kosher food  on your kosher dishes.

Let me also clarify that this was not just ONE rabbi who shushed it all. This was EVERY SINGLE Rabbi and Dayan involved in that community. The orders came down from the top and it was upheld all the way through.

Now, you see how these rabbis handle an important issue like that and are willing to whitewash it and to put thousands of Jews at risk, just so to cover their asses! What can we expect when it comes to an even more embarrassing subject like Child molesters and pedophilia in their own schools? There is no shot in the world that these unqualified so called rabbis will ever admit any guilt! Can someone show me one letter from all these rabbis where they discuss these pedophilia problems? Can someone tell me how they tackle this issue? Can someone give me any examples what they did to Jerry Brauner, a man that has molested Jewish children for close to 40 years openly?  What did they do to the  Rabbi who molested me in yeshiva. The rabbi that molested me is no longer alive, his name was "R’ Chaim Aryeh Braver” he molested me for a very long period of time, and I once had the guts to go to a “principal” in the yeshiva, and he gave me such a smack in my face for even having the audacity to say such a thing, that every time I think of that smack, I feel a dizziness and weakness in my body that I cant relate to you! And I am totally not kidding; I honestly feel that echo of that smack 40 years later and it gives me the chills up and down my body!

Let me tell you what they did have the guts to do! They took the only man with guts to expose this problem and educate us and putting his life on the line, a man with courage, a man with bravery, a man named Rabbi Nuchem Rosenberg, and without any justified reasons they isolated him, and problems solved!  Why? Because when ever you ask them, “hey, Nuchem said this”  “hey, nuchem said that”   they have an easy way out.   Well, sorry he is in Cheirem , he is in isolation, we are not allowed to talk to him, about him, With him. And that’s all, problem solved.

So here is the deal. If you want to continue following the rabbis blindly, with no questions asked. If the well being of your children means nothing to you. If the “image” of your name or your family is more important to you, then the well being of your kids. Then, just continue doing what you did until now “Nothing”! Just live through life the way you did till now. Let your kids go through hell and pain. Who cares, as long as your neighbor thinks that you are the perfect family. Does it really matter that your son is crying on his pillow at the age of 35, due to the abuse and hell he endured? No of course not! The neighbor does not see that and that’s the only important thing. I will be able to do a shidduch with this great family in the community, I don’t care that my son will be miserable due to the fact that he never got his help and therapy he so badly needed. Sorry I can’t worry about that, because that will mess up my name in the community

However, if you are a parent that the mere fact of the thought and possibility of what your kid is exposed to, gives you a rage and a chill up your spine, then its time to take action!

It is time to demand from your school some action! It is time to demand that your school has a video in every class room! It is time to demand that every teacher that has a complaint lodge against him is being thoroughly investigated!  It is time you educate your kids, that they report every minor abuse happening to them; let it be a teacher, a grandfather, a cousin, an uncle or a stranger! (Keep in mind, over 80% of molestation cases are done, by family members or friends) Ask your Rabbi what is HE doing to battle this problem? Ask your rabbi why is Rabbi Rosenberg being isolated when all he is doing is educate us? Ask your rabbi, how come Yechiel “Jerry” Braunner is free to walk the streets, and Rabbi Rosnberg is in isolation?  What a joke that one is! What a travesty and miscarriage of justice that one is!  How can someone have faith in any of these Rabbis who signed this “Worthless” isolation letter against rabbi Nuchem?

I spoke to some rabbis from varios communities all over the USA. That isolation letter “in their mind” is not even worth to be used for toilet paper. They laugh at it, they don’t even pay attention to it, and they all gave their opinion that it has no value or significance whatsoever!

The bottom line is a very simple one. Until the rabbis show us some inclination to get involved with this major problem and start doing something about it, they have no value as a rabbi, no value as תלמידי חכמים, they have no value at all! And it is up to us, to grab the bull by its horn and do something about it. Because we know for sure that they WILL NOT do anything, and it is our kids they we try to protect here.
In conclusion

G-d gave us “choice” on how to do things. That goes for both ways - choice in doing bad and choice in doing good!  As you see the people who use their choice to do badly, are doing a phenomenal job. They have the Rabbis who protect them, they have the majority of the community that protect them and they have an open field to molest and abuse with hardly any thing done about it

Now what it is asked from you is to choose Good over Bad!  Take that g-d given right of “Choice” and choose to make a difference! Choose to make this world a better place! Choose to make this world a safer place for your kids! And choose GOOD over BAD and you will benefit, your kids will benefit and everyone around you will benefit!

  1. Wow, wow, I knew reb Chai Arye. I held him in such high esteem. He did the best shidduchim with his children. He was laid to rest in KJ in a very high place, very close to the ohel, among the most chushive yiden. I know of many other very fine yiden who were not afforded such an honor. This is shocking. He used to go noch geld every day bein minche maariv. This is the last man I would have believed it.

  4. I don’t feel that I have to explain “Exactly” what was done, but I will tell you he touched me inappropriately and forced his genitals on me and made me touch him his private parts. Is that good enough for you, or is that really not that bad?

  7. Why am I NOT surprised that you think I am lying? How do you expect your own kid to come and tell you if he is abused when the first thing you have on your mind is “I think you are lying”

How do these little kids have a chance in hell, when the adults are so stupid and shallow? Rabbi Nuchem you are so needed here in this community, it is mind boggling!

  8. After that last comment, I just had a flash back to my childhood and it is scary how I still feel that terrible feeling in my body, just by this skunk making that statement “ I think you are lying”

All I can say, it gives me more energy and proof that I need to do what I am doing, and gives me more appreciation for Rabbi Nuchem!

You are either a pedophile yourself or your IQ is lower than that of a CHICKEN. When you try to take the chicks from the mother hen, she will fight you with all she has, but you, would smack your kid and call him a sheigetz and a liar. Wake up, grab THE SNEAKERS and SMELL THE CHAIR.

  14. I think the commenters who question the validity of your story because "nobody else claimed it" have a point.

But this is why people need to be educated regarding people who molest others.

Molesters are just like every other Frum Yid. They daven with kavana, learn with hasmada, makpid on only certain hashgochos, peyos , black hat, etc ... .

    They have no distinguishing characteristics.

That is why they can have so many defenders and also molest for their whole lives.

People have to learn that it is not a contradiction to be a molester and also be a 100% frum Yid. (a very scary thought)

We might see it as a contradiction , but they are dealing with their own Yetzer Hara. They might even sometimes overpower their Yetzer hara but sometimes they fail.

You cannot tell a person who was molested that what he is saying absolutely can't be true because you have known so and so for so many years.

The molested person might knows things about the person that you don't know.

  15. Someone said to me, ask many friends of Yoeli Engelman in cheder and they will tell you that he is an oisworf, he is a liar, ask 1000 and 1000 of kids and they will tell you that A Reichman never touched them. Well, if he touched only 5 among 10000 kids that's more than enough. They probably do it very discretionary out of fear. And that that he is an oisworf, probably so. How Should he not be after he was molested. I would say the same about reb Chaim Aryeh. Just because he didn't do it to hundreds of other kids doesn't mean he didn't do it to a handful few. He probably picked from time to time a new korban (victim)

  17. To the author:

Thank you for the courage to stand up for what is right and against what is wrong in our community. Your courage in naming your molester will inspire others, gauranteed. The more people who do it, it will have a snowball effect, with more and more coming out from the shadows.

To those who ask "why aren't there others?" The real question is why did it take so long for anyone to go public. The answer is a combination of psychology and culture. Psychologically, victims of child sexual abuse are often traumatized. They feel tremendous fear and shame. They feel like they won't be believed (as this author is not by some). The average time it takes a child to tell ANY adult is seven years. And that is in the secular world, where there is not such a stigma and fear for shidduchim! In the Orthodox community it can be even more scary. Many people I know and have treated have attempted suicide because they could no longer live with their secret. Rates of sucide among abusers who are "outed" are not nearly as high.

Police have told me that usually after an arrest is made more victims come forward because now they feel they will be believed. But that does NOT mean only coming forward to go public. Dear author, even if nobody else comes forward publicly about your abuser, there are people who will not even go for professional help until an arrest is made because they think that the psychologist won't believe them.

    Yasher Koyach. Chazak Ve'ematz.
    Asher
