Chain reaction.

The following is a letter I received from a reader, and called him up and spoke with him to get details and verify it. It turns out that I remember him from cheder and  we caught up on the “good ole times”  but I am glad that we were able to reminisce on our younger years.

Dear Blog admin,

I want to congratulate you on your fine work and on your courage to open your secrets and life and your pain to the public.

I am a former Talmud of R’ braver and B’H I was never molested by him, but I was “big time” touched and fondled” by a different teacher in the same school, and never ever told anyone (except for friends in shul) abut it, I was embarrassed, ashamed and scared.  And honestly, now that I see the backlash you are getting just for mentioning your story (which I fully believe you) it confirms my thinking that I always thought, that no one will believe me.

The teacher that touched me inappropriately is also not alive anymore, his name was R’ Abba Hirsh, he pulled down my pants on a daily basis, touched my genitals and pushed my hands towards his genitals. I can honestly say that I don’t believe it effected me much through out my life, but every so often it gets me mad  and a little down, but overall my life has been smooth sailing for the most part.

I can also tell you that while discussing it with guys “non challantly” there seems to bbe that I was NOT the only one! It’s almost like “oh he was an old chazir – we all knew it”.

Well, just like you, I am not telling this story because I want to call him t court or I want to win some money here, I am just telling it as a warning and a reminder to everyone involved with kids. Don’t even touch little kids, because it will come back to hurt you 20 years later. Kids remember thins vividly and you never know when they will decide to talk.

Feel free to publish my name; I am not embarrassed in the least. And you can always reach me at 718.38-.----

Sincerely
S…… ………..

Editors Note:

I advised him after talking to him, to not publish his name. Also, I feel better now that I have publicized my molesters name Mr. braver, because people see that you can get revenge and justice after all even 30 years later. I have gotten also many more emails accusing other teachers and principals, but I need to verify them first.

OH! I remember hearing about him that he is a chazzer. I remember them saying that he is a big am ha'oretz but he has a good hasbure, so another rebbe always taught him the weekly chimish and he was able to teach it to the children. I understand that how to pull pants and say turn to face me (of course - in Yiddish), for that he didn't need a tutor. The rumor was that finally they took him out of the class and put him in the tuition office in Boro Park. I know for a fact that whenever a girl walked in to the office and didn't say a loud "Good Morning" he sent her out and she had to come in again and say "git morgen, what an alter chazzer.

  4. You deny other people from responding so you look like a hero, there are hundreds of us ready to defeat you and your cronies...don't be a chicken

  5. To Anon who writes in LARGE letters (we all know what that means, right..):

You and your cronies are the only bad one here.

  6. Hundreds ready to defeat me? What are you saying? You don’t have a single person brave enough to come debate R’ nuchem! You don’t have a single rabbi courageous enough to discuss publicly the “molestations” that’s happening in our schools! You have hundreds out to defeat me? What is it that you do not like about me? I am against pedophilia? Against abusers? Against low scum ? What bothers you ? and please forget about 100, bring me 5 guys that are willing to speak out about abuse and I will go away myself.

You are blowing hot air for 50 years. You are typical! We will do this, we will do that! Nothing! Nothing! Nothing! You are all talk!

  7. I think he has hundreds to physically harm you. This believe him. You are going with mesiras nefesh and it is no melitzeh (euphemism) here. You are dealing with the mafia. However, they think they live still in Maramorosh.

  8. mafia........low level thugs is more like it.

The mafia would have enough morals to protect their children and take care of sexual offenders the way they should be taken care of.

  9. R' Aba Hirsh ז"ל was a yid a tzadik. Anyone being מוציא שם רע on a tzadik like him is עתיד לתן את הדין
Now, don't get me wrong. I agree with Nuchem in most of his issues. But you got to draw a line somewhere. Especially when you talk about a tzadik like R' Aba Hirsch z"l after he is not with us any longer.

  10. A legitimate questions from a loyal reader:

IF it was YOUR grandfather, or brother, or CHILD - that you LOVE - that has a story on him, would you still put it out there?

    The story of R' A H - who's a relative - makes me ask the question.

It is very sad if true, but while I understand it may deter others - isn't it enough to bring out the names of people that are a clear and present danger?

It is after all, hurtful to the family. And if it doesn't serve a purpose - not more than if (As mentioned above) anouncing current dangereous-to-society individuals..?

    Looking forward to your response.

  11. I feel very bad for the family of R’ Abba, the family of R’ Chaim Aryeh, and as a matter of fact for the families of a Lebowitz, Weingarten, Kolko, Goodman, Greenfeld, Reichmann or any other people that were in the news. But understand this. When it comes to an issue like this, you can not worry about the feelings of a family member. You main concern is to worry about the victims and their well being.

Furthermore, it is the responsibility of the Abuser or molester to take his family in consideration! They should think before hand what the outcome might be, and how their kids and family will suffer. I will also let you in on something. One of the people in the news is a relative of mine, and it is very painful to watch the hurt that the family suffers. But “we” got no one to blame but himself! He brought it all on us! Not the people that exposed him! In English they say: Don’t shoot the messenger, shoot the message.

Every murderer and every one of the 2.3 million people that sit in Americas prisons, have legit, law-abiding citizens, good hearted people that suffer consequences of their fathers or relatives crime. But if you will worry about “feeling” of family members, there will be no judicial system!

My heart bleeds for you, and it really feels bad for you, but these are casualties of war, and it is very unfortunate

  12. I fully agree with the blog owner.

I once saw an interview of the mother of Charles Manson ( considered the worst serial killer in the history of America), and she kept referring to him “my Baby” – “my little boy” and they had a psychologist that reminded the audience that as vile and as vicious as he is, she is still his mother and he is “her” baby.

To us he is a nasty brutal killer but to her it’s “her baby”!

Let me also remind you that the victims have family that have to watch their kids grow up in pain and nuchem Rosenberg has family too. So let’s leave the family on the side and concentrate on the abusers and the victims

    Keep up the great work!

  13. To anon:12:13 I am sure NIR will respond. I knew reb Aba just from appearance. He looked like a finer Yid and probably was, and maybe even a tzadik. So I would think of reb Chaim Arye and of A Reicman. Even a tzadik can be nichshel (fall into the trap of the yetzer hora). This revelations will give a forcefull push to look very hard into the matter not like it was to whitewash. And if you dont whitewash you are helping these tzadikim, they would not have done it, and you would have prevented this terrible pain from the family.

  15. I want to say a few more words to anon:12:31. My father was from the elterer dor (of holocaust survivors) He was an erlicher yid, even a tzadik you might say. He was no melamed, and so it didn't come to this. His entire generation, everyone, all they wanted is be a sheiner yid. When I said to him, ober tatty ich halt nisht derbei (But tatty i am not into it I can't fake it). He would say, demolts mach dich (then fake it). Everything was, gemacht (fake). Their entire mindset was, shein yidshaft.

  21. To the previous commenter.

Do not make a fool out of yourself.

    1. You are wrong. I myself Also learned by him chimush in 1st grade NOT in kindergarten. R’ Fishel kats was kindergarten and R” abba was 1st grade, Dovid Shlomo Berger was 2nd, R’ Chaim E. bittman was 3rd, etc.

    2. The letter never mentioned what R’ Abba thought him. It was a commenter that said that R’ Abba was a good chumish teacher. The story itself never mentioned it either way.

If you want to feel good that your father, grandfather, uncle, cousin did not do those things, you are going at it the wrong way! It is NOT a bad reflection on you, it is just a secret about him and more of a warning for the future teachers. That is all!
